One of the most stunning waterfront rooms on Cape Cod, with piers that extend over the harbor and views that need no decoration. The Kidd has hosted Woods Hole's celebrations for nearly a century — weddings, rehearsal dinners, and every toast in between. Your day deserves a room this good.
Seating charts, timelines, the cousin who needs a gluten-free plate — we've handled it all, and we'll handle yours. You show up and get married; we'll take care of the rest.

No two wedding weekends look quite the same. Some call for a seated dinner with family and friends, while others are better suited to cocktails, appetizers, and a room full of people catching up.
We'll work with you to find the right food, bar, and layout for your gathering, taking care of the details that make the evening come together.

With the patio and docks in play, our spaces open up for larger guest counts and more flexibility in how your event comes together.
During the quieter edges of our season, events are primarily indoors, creating a more intimate setting for smaller groups.
The space itself worked great for our group, since there was a variety of seating and lounging options, including relaxing by the beautiful water on the dock. It created the perfect laid-back and celebratory yet polished feel, the ideal Cape Cod setting! The Captain Kidd team was a great part of our special weekend and made everything feel so easy.
We had a dreamy reception in the Kidd’s private event space, with a small unofficial afterparty where we ordered nightcaps at the bar amidst regulars. Months later, the staff of the Kidd remembered us when we returned for a newlywed dinner, and Katie welcomed us back recently on our first date night out after the birth of our son. I can’t recommend the Kidd enough for a wedding! We have such fond memories of our time there, and it exceeded all our expectations.
I grew up in Falmouth and getting to share a small piece of Woods Hole and the Cape with our friends and family the night before our wedding made the whole weekend so special. The guests were blown away by the dock, the food and the atmosphere. Katie and the team worked so hard to make everything perfect.
Thank you again for hosting us. From the initial planning to the actual party was seamless…Nor’Easter and all. The food and service were fantastic and we can’t wait to go back!
The event itself was perfect! The waitstaff were polite and efficient and the food was excellent. We felt very well taken care of from beginning to end.

Can we host both a rehearsal dinner and welcome party?
Absolutely! Depending on your guest count and event format, we can accommodate both celebrations in one evening. We'll work with you to plan a timeline and layout that allows for a comfortable transition between the two.
How is pricing structured?
Pricing varies depending on the date and space reserved. Private events are subject to a room charge and applicable food and beverage minimums. We'll be happy to walk you through the pricing and options available for your specific event.
What food and bar options are available?
We offer traditional seated dinners as well as cocktail-style receptions featuring passed and stationary appetizers. We do not offer buffet or family-style service. Our bar service is consumption-based and can be customized to include beer and wine or a full bar, with the option to establish a predetermined spending cap.
Can we have a DJ, live music, and outside vendors?
DJs and solo musicians are welcome with prior approval. Due to the layout of our historic building, we generally cannot accommodate full live bands. Wedding planners, florists, photographers, and other vendors are also welcome, with all entertainment, equipment, and setup coordinated with our events team in advance.
What should we know about timing, outdoor spaces, and weather?
Evening receptions generally cannot begin before 5:30 PM. Depending on your time of the year, designated portions of our waterfront patio and docks may be included. Dock use is weather-dependent and cannot be guaranteed, and event layouts and capacities are planned with changing New England weather in mind.
How do we get started?
Send us your preferred date, approximate guest count, and whether you're envisioning a seated or cocktail-style reception. Wedding availability—particularly during the summer and early fall—can be limited, so we recommend reaching out as early as possible. Once we've determined that your plans are a potential fit, we're happy to schedule a tour and start talking through the details.
